I bought this after having my nails done in Florida . My nail salon doesn’t carry this product in Ohio. I love how it goes on and is so much healthier for my nail beds. I can get about 3 weeks before I need a refill. Great value and my nail tech said it was easy to use!
This HyGEL CLEAR 60ml Hybrid Gel I found a bit daunting at first. It comes in a generous sized tube. But it comes with no applicator at all. I found the directions it comes with it vague and lacking (just a few written basic sentences, nothing really explained in detail.) All it says is: "Smooth with 70% alcohol, Cure with LED/UV Light, Soak Off with 100 % Acetone." That is, it. And a warning to "Avoid All Skin Contact." That warning took me aback a bit because when I'm doing my own nails, I have a very hard time not letting any of the product touch my skin! And the listing details say: "Harmless Gel Enhancements" so I thought this would be more benign that other nail gels. I was surprised to see the warning about not letting it touch my skin. The needed information on how to apply this nail gel doesn't come with this product, but what I will say is the video they have on the listing will show you very well how to go about it. You apply a small glob of this to your nail, spread it with a nail tool spatula, smooth it out over the top with a nail brush dipped in acetone and then cure under a UV light. I'm not sure I have 100% acetone on hand to soak it off, and I'm not sure now that I want to apply this directly to my nails like I was originally planning since I have such a hard time keeping nail products from touching my skin at all. I'm going to play with it on fake nails first for sure and see how I feel about it after that. I appreciate that they say "no toxic odors" from this product. It does really have an interesting thick texture to it, the odor does seem minimal, and I am looking forward to determining how to best use this for myself.
I’m still figuring out how to use this, but it claims to have many many uses and that’s really helpful for someone who is learning about doing my own nails. It’s a really good amount as well, like I know this will last a long time. I’m also pretty sure it’s not soak off and needs to be filed off, so keep that in mind. My first impression is that it’s a quality product. Its packaging was secure and it came in tact, with no leaking at all.
This wasn't all that difficult to use, though it would be nice if there were directions somewhere on the tube or packaging.The tricky part is just getting used to shaping and and getting it thin enough at the tips.It does really keep my nails from feeling fragile, and thats a huge plus for me. Once I got it on and shaped with a tool, stiff brush and rubbing alcohol I was fairly pleased. It smoothed and leveled very nicely, and cured up as expected.After getting it all set the polish went on over it easily, and it looks pretty good for a first try. I was able to extend it a mm or 2 beyond my actual nail, so I'm hoping this will cut down on chipping that nail all the time.
